Scarlett Johansson may be used to attending red carpet events, but she was surprised when she was shown a video clip of a woman vanishing in the background during one of her interviews.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon recently posted a video which went viral, showing an incident where a woman appeared to vanish behind the actress. Surprisingly, the woman in question turned out to be none other than her own mother, leaving everyone stunned.
Believe it or not, a video has been circulating on TikTok featuring Scarlett Johansson and her disappearing mother. The clip was taken at the 2006 Golden Globes Awards red carpet event, when Johansson was starring in movies like The Black Dahlia and The Prestige. In the video, her mother, Melanie Sloan, appears briefly before mysteriously vanishing. Surprisingly, the actress had never seen this footage before. After the video was shared on a late-night talk show, Johansson confirmed that the woman in the video was indeed her mother. In fact, Sloan can also be seen in some of the professional photos Johansson took at the event, though it’s unclear whether this was before or after her disappearing act. Regardless, Sloan looks perfectly fine in the photos.
While some Marvel actors might accidentally give out minor spoilers and violate terms, it’s interesting to consider how much they really know about the future of the MCU. It’s common for them to deflect and defer in order to protect details from the media and fans. However, during our interview with Tom Holland for Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019, something out of the ordinary occurred.
While reviewing the footage for a different story, I stumbled upon a surprising answer from Tom Holland. My question was about Spider-Man’s future in the MCU as it transitions into Phase Four after losing heroes like Captain America and Iron Man. However, Holland used this as a chance to tease a potential team-up, and now, re-watching the clip in 2021, it seems like he may have known what was coming in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Let’s play the clip and discuss.
Wow, I can’t believe it! The woman with the dark hair in that video is none other than my long-lost mother. I’ve been searching for her for over a decade, and here she is right before my eyes. The Tonight Show team probably didn’t anticipate how much of an emotional rollercoaster presenting this clip to Scarlett Johansson would be, but it proved to be even more satisfying than they expected. Check out the entire exchange on the late night show below.
